Author Kätlin Kaldmaa, publisher Hunt
A generously illustrated book about the most important Estonian poet Lydia Koidula (lived in 1843 – 1886). With illustrations, I try to leave room for the viewer for the imagination. The bright fresh eye-catching red tone is balanced with calm night blue.
I experimented with offset colour overprint (Pantone colours printed on one another, creating a third tone). A similar kind of printing principle was used in the 19th century with lithography.
48 pages, 195 × 285 mm, hardcover with Geltex, paper Munken Pure, Greif Printhouse, Estonia.
